Miles City Fire & Rescue provides fire protection, emergency medical service (EMS), and community service to the City of Miles City. Miles City Fire & Rescue responds to over 1,600 calls a year. These include medical emergencies, structure fires, and motor vehicle crashes. Fifteen full-time employees and up to twenty part-paid employees contribute to the success of Miles City Fire & Rescue.

All Miles City Fire & Rescue employees welcome visitors to the station and they encourage community members to ask questions and learn more about Miles City Fire & Rescue operations and services to Miles City,
​Custer County, and neighboring Montana regions.

To prevent or minimize loss of life and property from fire, injury, illness, or other sudden hazardous situations which can be dealt with by the resources of the department and cannot be managed by other public or private services.
